Brief introduction to Dr. Jingpu Tian:
Dr. Jingpu Tian earned her Bachelor's degree from the College of Science and Technology at Shenyang Agricultural University in 2013. That same year, she moved to Wuhan to pursue graduate studies. She received her Ph.D. in Genetics from Huazhong Agricultural University in 2019. Later that year, she joined Hunan University of Science and Technology as a full-time lecturer.
Her research focuses on germplasm resources and genetic breeding of ornamental plants, primarily in two areas:1) Molecular Mechanisms of Floral Fragrance in Ornamental Plants: Using species such as wintersweet, Siam tulip (Curcuma alismatifolia), tea-oil camellia, rhododendron, and lotus as research models, she investigates the biosynthesis and regulation of plant volatile organic compounds (VOCs). 2) Mechanisms of Interaction Between VOCs from Traditional Chinese Aromatic Plants and the Human Body: She employs aromatic plants to study the effects and applications of plant-derived VOCs on human health and well-being.
Additionally, she explores practical applications of flowering plants in horticultural therapy and aromatherapy.
